Valley Arts Open Mic Night
Calling Chew Valley musicians! Have you been working on a song or piece? Feeling ready to play in front of a friendly supportive audience?
So dust off that guitar, banjo, or even your trombone or drum kit… Whatever you play or sing, come share your talents; solos, duos, small groups…all genres, instruments and voices welcome, learners or pros. Or just come out for an entertaining evening featuring some excellent local live music.

Garden Volunteering
We run regular volunteer sessions in our garden with Tim the gardener. Which finish with lunch in our restaurant as way of thanks.
We accept garden volunteers on Thursdays from June

Wine & Cheese Tour with Good Stories in Food
You'll meet your group in central Bristol where you'll hop aboard the tour minibus that will be your transport for the day.
The first stop is a natural, biodynamic vineyard with breathtaking views over Chew Valley Lake! You'll learn about the biodynamic approach to viticulture and the impact it has on both of flavour of the wine and the land and you'll taste two of these unique wines.
Then there will be a stop for lunch at the amazing The Pony Chew Valley, run by Josh Eggleton! You'll enjoy an exclusive lunch, with nibbles and a main dish, profiling the best local ingredients. You'll also get a special tour of the restaurant, garden and cookery school, from Josh himself (availability dependent)!
Please note, lunch is included in the price of the tour.
From here the group will head to the village of Cheddar, where you'll have time to explore this charming village before taking a tour of a dairy that produces the only cheddar cheese made in Cheddar and taste some of their wonderful cheeses.
Next, it's on to a second vineyard to learn about planet-friendly growing techniques and, of course, you'll taste some fabulous wine!

Yoga with Emma Hasell
An evening to nourish both body & mind with mindful movement & delicious seasonal food with Emma Hasell
An opportunity to immerse all five senses to connect with nature and yourself, giving yourself time and space to feel present.
Together we will practise a gentle slow paced yoga flow perfect for finding rhythm with breath and body.
A guided meditation followed by a beautiful soundbath bathing you in sounds and vibrations for deep relaxation.

Our vision was to showcase the incredible produce from our suppliers and offer our customers access to the finest local goods. But it’s about more than just food for us – it’s about bringing everything closer to home. Local means everything to us: makers, creators, and those who contribute to the vibrancy of our community. -
Plein Air Acrylic Painting
Join Gemma Lane of Green Fox Workshops for a relaxing art workshop designed to help you unwind and express your creativity. This hands-on experience is perfect for all skill levels, whether you are a beginner or an experienced artist. We will be working with acrylic paints, plein air on the veranda of The Pony Chew Valley. The stunning view takes in the beautiful countryside of Chew Valley.

In a tranquil setting, you'll explore various techniques, working with artist Gemma Lane in the beautiful surroundings at The Pony Chew Valley. This is a wonderful experience including a delicious ploughman’s lunch.
Participants will have ample opportunity to experiment with colours, forms, and textures, while also learning helpful tips and techniques to enhance their artistic skills. The workshop will also include moments of mindfulness, where you can take a break to reflect and appreciate your surroundings.
Come with an open mind and leave with a sense of calm, a new artistic perspective, and a unique piece of artwork that you’ve created. All materials will be provided, so just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to explore.

Hand Tied Bouquet Making
17th July
Clem, the head florist at Heart of BS13 flowers will be hosting a two-hour workshop, bringing beautiful, locally grown flowers to the Pony for this special event.
Clem will demonstrate how to arrange a hand-tied spiral bouquet with our fresh seasonal flowers, and guide you through the key elements of flower arranging: Floral design principles, and choice of palate, composition and technique. Then you’ll create your own masterpiece, with Clem on hand to offer further guidance and support, before learning how to wrap your bouquet like a professional, using our biodegradable paper, compostable aqua-pack and gift box to take your creation home in. You’ll go home with a bouquet you’re extremely proud of – and the confidence to make your own going forward.
Clem will talk briefly about our charity’s aims and mission to tackle health inequalities in BS13 and the importance of locally grown sustainable, low carbon flowers. By booking the workshop you will be supporting Heart of BS13 to offer free training and education opportunities to those in the community of BS13.

Vase Arranging & Afternoon Tea
2nd August
Heart of BS13's florist, Clem, will guide you through the entire process of arranging your vase, including: cutting and conditioning techniques, which improve the longevity of your flowers, what to use in a vase arrangement, including focal flowers, filler flowers and foliage
You’ll use your new knowledge to create a floral vase arrangement, using a wonderful selection of freshly-cut, sustainable flowers which have been grown at Heart of BS13's sustainable flower farm in Hartcliffe in South Bristol.
Following the class you will head to the Pony dining room for a delicious afternoon tea overlooking the gardens and the beautiful Chew Valley.

Farm. Fire. Feast.
June 21st
Our farm tour kicks off the evening, where you'll get an exclusive look behind the scenes of our operation. Learn about our sustainable practices and how we raise our animals that provide our delicious grass-fed beef and pasture-raised chicken.
Head back to the barn, where you will enjoy a complimentary glass of Sutton Ridge Wine, produced by Luke Ford on his vineyard a mile from our farm. Luke will also have bottles for sale for you to enjoy with your feast.
Then the real magic happens when acclaimed guest chef Josh Eggleton along with some help from his team from The Pony will be crafting a fire-kissed, 3 course feast using the freshest ingredients straight from our farm and other local producers.
