The Pony Community

Welcome to the Pony Chew Valley Community Page, where the Pony Restaurant Group is not just about extraordinary culinary experiences but is deeply rooted in giving back and building connections.

Our commitment to the community goes beyond the kitchen, from local charity work and a diverse range of community projects to hosting local community-led events and experience day visits from local schools. Josh, Holly, and the team believe that if you have the resources and means to give back you should, and that’s exactly what the below projects try to achieve.

Community is at the forefront of everything The Pony restaurant group does.

Explore the Pony Restaurant Group’s many activities and projects below.

  • Care. Clim. Kilimanjaro.

Each year Josh Eggleton and a brave bunch of friends take on a mountain climb of epic proportions to raise money for Caring in Bristol, supporting the local charity's vision of creating a city empowered to solve homelessness.

  • School visits

We believe it’s important to get kids involved from an early age. We organise local school visits to the restaurant to explore the grounds and learn about produce and food from our experienced team.

  • The Anti-Banquet

Turning the banquet scene on it’s head, Anti-Banquet will raise £100,000+ for the Bristol local food fund, helping to fund a number of Bristol’s Most Vital Community food Projects and help those who are most in need.

  • Fōda

A networking event and celebration for both the restaurants and the producers to showcase the best food and drink that our region, the South-West, has to offer. Restaurants from across Bristol, Somerset, Bath, The Cotswolds and Wales are invited to attend.

The event is a celebration of our regions’ products, with the aim of building new connections between traders & restaurants in our region.

  • The Mazi Project

    The Mazi Project

The MAZI Project is a youth-led charity empowering disadvantaged 16-25 year olds through food

We support care leavers, young asylum seekers, youth recovering from homelessness and fleeing domestic violence. The mission is to create a city where fresh, nutritious and sustainable food is accessible to all.

  • Community events

As we said above we believe if you have the resources and means to give back and help, you should. We give the use of our restaurant space and gardens to community-led events and have hosted everything from charity lunches to yoga sessions and open mic nights.

  • Team Canteen

Team Canteen CIC channels support and resources from the local hospitality industry to play its part in reducing food insecurity in Bristol. The principles of diversity, inclusion, participation and sustainability are at the heart of the organisation.

We support food charities and local projects already working in the city and aim to bridge the gap between hospitality businesses and these organisations to increase access to healthy food.

  • Breaking Bread Bristol

CURATING A SAFE PLACE FOR PEOPLE TO BREAK BREAD TOGETHER.

Bristol businesses came together to develop Breaking Bread – a pop-up tipi village of socially distanced dining and drinking venues on Clifton Downs. As a response to the coronavirus pandemic and its devastating effects on the events and hospitality industries, here’s how they joined forces to build a socially responsible and sustainable enterprise

  • We're always looking for more ways to help

If you have a project, charity cause or community initiative, even an idea we’re always on the hunt for more ways to help and give back!
